Our Story
In 1997, HospiVision was founded by Faith Based Organisations and churches in the Moot area in Pretoria to support patients in the Pretoria Academic Hospital, currently the Tshwane District Hospital. In 1998 Dr Andre de la Porte was appointed as managing director, and in 1999, HospiVision was formally registered as Section 21 Non-Profit Company. The first Board consisted of Dr A de la Porte (Managing Director), Dr H van der Walt (Founder), and Dr Z Njongwe (Member). Since then, HospiVision has gone from strength to strength and is currently working in several public hospitals across South Africa, while our head office is still at the Tshwane District Hospital. The hospitals where we work usually provide us with office space, keeping our overheads low and ensuring that the funding we receive can be utilized for the services that we render.
