This course, designed for caregivers working within the Bio-psychosocial-spiritual paradigm, focuses on providing compassionate care to patients diagnosed with life-limiting diseases.

Section 1: Explores the key aspects essential for understanding the challenges faced by patients in palliative care, their families, loved ones, and caregivers.

Section 2: Introduces advanced communication techniques to help caregivers better understand the unspoken or unconscious experiences of patients and their loved ones. This section emphasizes advanced empathy and person/patient-centred facilitation to promote growth and understanding in the caregiving relationship.

Section 3: Addresses the spiritual dimension of the Bio-psychosocial-spiritual paradigm, emphasizing the significance of understanding diverse belief systems for fostering spiritual well-being.

University of Pretoria Certificate

As an extension to the course, delegates have the option to do an additional assignment, which will be sent to the University of Pretoria for accreditation. The details of the certificate are discussed during the course. Please note that certificates are issued only once a year by the University of Pretoria. The UP certificate for any courses completed during 2025, will be issued in 2026 by the University.

1. Download and complete the registration form.You can either download and print the form, then fill it out by hand, or- complete the form online by filling out the fillable PDF.

2. Email your completed form to friend@hospivision.org.za.If you are applying for a scholarship, please include your scholarship application form along with the registration form.

3. Once your registration has been reviewed and approved, an invoice will be sent to the email address you provided. (Make payment using the invoice number as reference. This helps ensure your registration is processed smoothly. You can also send proof of payment to finance@hospivision.org.za if you wish.)

4. After payment is confirmed, all study materials will be sent to the same email address.
